Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi,  has what it will take to be at the top of the performance bikes segment.

Following are the key features of bike.

1. Oil cooled 220 cc single cylinder engine. This is one of its kind, the first ever bike to have oil cooled engine. Engine in other bike is cooled by air by natural convention. Maintains lube-oil viscosity even under extreme conditions of stress and ambient temperatures. Also helps in cooling the engine internals.

2. Fuel injected engine. A new technology is of fuel inection is employed in Pulsar DTS-Fi bike. Previously a carburettor was used. Carburettor is a device which is used to mix air and fuel. Fuel injection in Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi atomizes the fuel into very tiny droplets by forcibly pumping it through a small nozzle under high pressure. This technology was first incorporated in Hero Honda Glamour.

3. 20 bhp with 19.13 N-m torque. This makes it the bike second most powerful production bike in India after Enfield bullet 500.

4. The engine has two spark plugs, but, instead of conventionally positioned straight ports, the offset positioning of the ports generate high swirl and turbulence of the air fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. This results in highly efficient combustion that further results in exceptional mileage.

5. Hydraulically actuated rare disc brake.

6. For the first time in India, the bike has been launched without a kick start lever. Engine starts in all conditions of temperature and altitude.

7. Split seat.

8. Proj head lamps.

9. Bigger tyres (tubeless).

10. Digital speedometer with diagnostic indicators.This means that the indicators will automatically come in action as the bike takes a turn.
